10 horse power independent crank engine, with 19¾ inch cylinder, 2½ foot stroke, parallel motion, [cast iron beam, cast iron connecting rod].Reverse side view of the engine and cross-section of boilers, plan of the engine and boilers, cross-section of the engine platform, longitudinal section of boiler; press copy plan of the engine marked "Original of above sent to Mr. Rennie". The reverse drawings bear letter codes.
Original portfolio or 'Book' No. 640. Catalogue of Old Engines p. 218.
For Mr. Bunbury, Essequibo, West Indies. Sugar plantation engine ordered by Francis Garden & Sons of Glasgow. According to Engine Order Book No. 7 it was erected by Witherspoon. In Aug. 1815 Nathaniel Winter & Co. ordered spares for this engine through John Rennie.
