Description (What the record is about)

Two copies (1 tracing cloth, 1 paper) of a large plan detailing the composition of the strata across Cleveland from Cockfield Whin to the coast. A number of mines are shown including South and North Skelton, Boosbeck and Liverton. Also on the plan are a number of enlarged sections of the ironstone bed in different places (scale: 1/4 inch to 1 foot). The original plan was drawn by Thomas Alison, Guisborough.
Horizontal Scale: 10 chains to 1 inch
Vertical Scale: 100 feet to 1 inch -
