Description

By ARTHUR PESCOD of Petersfield, gent., brother and heir of Richard Pescod late of Harting, gent, deceased, to FRANCIS SONE of Stockbridge near Chichester, esq. - for 5s. - of a messuage or tenement, with the barnes, stables, outhouses & c

And one close near the said messuage called West Croft, 4 ac. Also a barn called Redland Barn

Closes called North Redland Close next the barn, 13 ac. 2 r

The Lower Redland close next the Lower Lyme Mead otherwise Lye Mead, 9 ac. 1 r. 27 p. The Upper Lyme als Lye Mead, 9 ac. 3 r. 15 p

Redland Close next the two Upper Lyme Meads and the Railed piece, 13 ac. 2 r

The Long piece of the Redlands from the barn to the Mead and the Little Corner Close adjoining by the watering place, 2 ac. 2 r

All late in the occupation of Thomas Palmer, esq. deceased and John Linster and since of John Pay. And situate in Harting

And also the purrock adjoining to the said Upper Lyme Mead otherwise Lye Mead with liberty to turn the brook from time to time running in the Upper Lyme Mead for the overflowing and watering lands (as mentioned)

And liberty to scour the Great Trench or Dyke wherein the said brook ran from Gunning Mill and other the trench there from the said Mill pond

And also all the lands and tenements &c. containing 50 ac. parcel of lands called Emeryes viz: Peasecroft, 6 ac.; adjoining to Tibballs Lane; the Great Hampshire adjoining to Pease Croft N., 20 ac.; the Little Hampshire, 8 ac. adjoining Great Hampshire, E. and to Laurence Garden, W.; the Mores in 3 closes, 16 ac. adjoining to great Hampshires, N. and to the Down of East Harting called the Fore Downs, S

And Common of pasture for 45 sheep on East Harting Down

All in East Harting or South Harting in the occupation of John Pay

Also 2 closes called the Combe Croftes, 8 ac. in East Harting in the occupation of the said John Pay
