Description (What the record is about)
-
Will be pleased to see 'you both', together with the JA [? John Ashburnham] account book. Was visited by [RH] D'Elboux and Mr [Wilfrid James] Hemp, who schedules Welsh monuments. The pictures are all cleared from their wrappings and still standing on the floors. Has been waiting for Sam to have time from other repairs to hang the less important picture rails. Can imagine the state of things at Penshurst [Kent], and hopes that the de L['Isle]s are equally keen on discovering the truth. They are lucky to have found such good stuff in the servants' rooms. Was interested to hear of JA [John Ashburnham] fighting a duel. Ellen [Bowman] is back.
