(1) Bengal to Court pp. 1-339, 15th and 28th Feb. and 12th April 1823, Proceedings connected with the revocation of Mr. Buckingham's Licence to reside in India, Enactment of a Bye-Law regarding the Press, Grant of a Licence for publishing the Calcutta Journal, dated 8th May 1823, to John Francis Sandys; pp. 341-72, 31st July 1823, ''Letter of a Young Officer'' published by Sandys in the Calcutta Journal; pp. 373-584, 30th Dec. 1823 and 17th Jan. 1826, Misconduct of the Editors of the Calcutta Journal, Expulsion of Sandford Arnot, Withdrawal of the Licence. Renewal applied for by W. P. Muston and refused; pp. 585-600, 31st March 1824, Grant of Licence to Muston to publish a Newspaper called The Scotsman in the East. (2) pp. 153-213, ''A few brief Remarks on the recent act of Transportation without Trial with Copies of Official Correspondence between W. H. Bayley (Chief Secretary to Government) and Mr. Buckingham, the late Editor of the Calcutta Journal, printed for the Private Information of Mr. Buckingham's Friends, but neither Published nor Sold, 24th Feb. 1823.'' (3) pp. 601-61, Proceedings with respect to the Periodical Press in Bengal subsequent to the grant of a Licence to Mr. Muston for the publication of the Scotsman in the East, 31st Dec. 1824 to 27th Oct. 1830, The Bengal Hurkara, John Bull, Oriental Herald, The Scotsman in the East, Columbian Press Gazette, and Calcutta Chronicle. (4) pp. 663-88, Bombay to Court 7th Sept. and 5th Nov. 1824, Supreme Court of Judicature's complaint against Mr. Fair, Editor of the Bombay Gazette, Court prohibits all Servants of the Company, Military and Civil, Surgeons and Chaplains, from having any connection with a Newspaper or Periodical Journal unless devoted exclusively to Literary and Scientific objects. (5) pp. 689-731, Notarial copy of Mr. Buckingham's Letter of 16th Jan. 1820, alleged by him in his Evidence before the Committee of the House of Commons to have been altered by the Bengal Government, and correspondence on the subject between the Court of Directors and the Authorities in India 20th June 1826 to 13th Aug. 1828.
