States the extent, rental, and title to the properties in and of the manors of Bolney, Medes alias Erode in Eastbourne, Amies in West Firle, Farlegh Stonelink [Fairlight and Stonelink in Fairlight], West Firle and Catsfield and lands in Denton
Although there is no title or indication of ownership, it is clear from the contents that Bartholomew Bolney (d. 1476) compiled this extent of his lands. The 'evidences' go back to the 14th century, in some cases to Edward I's reign, and are detailed
The volume is endorsed as having been examined and transcribed by William Burrell, 1786
The volume is made up of parchment leaves in 3 gatherings stitched to the cover of two membranes (apparently contemporary). It has been paginated 1-49 at some late date and continues to 94. The gatherings are made up of pages 1-18, 19-74, 75-94
